Colouring on Woodturning Course
Important: if you or anyone in your household has a high temperature or a new and continuous cough, even if it's mild, you should stay at home.
Learn how to add a personal, decorative touch to your work at our Colouring on Woodturning course!
Held at our store near Doncaster, this is an instructional hands-on course with our woodturning tutor, Mick Hanbury. No prior knowledge is needed on this course - it is suitable for beginners and intermediates wishing to add colour to wood turned pieces of work.
During the course, you will learn how to achieve effective results using paints and stains to transform your wood turned pieces into beautiful, colourful works of art.
This course has been created as a safe space to experiment and embrace the unknown! You will use a selection of artist brushes and materials to create fluid and unique shapes and patterns, learn how to manipulate brush strokes, and discover which paints and finishes complement each other without causing any bleeds or blemishes.
On this course, you will use:
- Jo Sonja paints
- Chestnut Products
- Foam and artist brushes
- A variety of experimental materials
You will be provided with one piece of turned work made by Mick for you to practice a variety of colouring styles and techniques. Please note, no woodturning will be done during this course other than demonstrations by our tutor. You are welcome to bring your own pre-turned pieces along with you, but this is not essential to the course. Please ensure that the pieces you bring do not have any finishing products applied to them.
As this is course is designed for you to try multiple techniques, please understand that you may not have a finished piece of work to take home with you at the end of the day. You will gain a multitude of new skills to experiment on your own work back at home or in your workshop.
Our facilities include all personal safety protection and all materials required for the course are included.
To top off this excellent course, you will also receive a 10% discount off selected products you wish to buy from our store on the day!
