Sycamore

Product Description

This wood works easily with machine and hand tools, with a moderate blunting effect. Very sharp tools are advised for a clean finish. It turns, glues, sands and paints well, carves easily and polishes very well.

Sycamore wood blanks are available in squares, rounds and spindles. All sizes are listed in inches unless stated otherwise.

"I bought 2 blanks but one of them had a significant crack / shake through it. I did wonder if it would hold together but alas did shattered when being turned. Given what I was making I was able just to use what was left. Please in future make sure that blanks don't have shakes that could splinter when turned. Potentially very dangerous."
