Bandsaw Maintenance Course
Important: if you or anyone in your household has a high temperature or a new and continuous cough, even if it's mild, you should stay at home.
Learn the safety procedures, operation, and maintenance of a bandsaw!
Held at our store near Doncaster, this is a half-day instructional course suitable for all abilities. During this 3-hour session, you will learn how to set up a bandsaw correctly, be able to practice safe setting procedures and watch how to operate the bandsaw safely.
Topics covered in this course include:
- Guarding
- Machine setting and operation
- Changing a blade correctly
- Wheel and tyre alignment
- Blade tensioning and tracking
- How to get maximum life from a blade
You will also learn about cleaning, maintenance, and the compatible bandsaw accessories available that can support you in your workshop.
Working on a bandsaw can enhance your woodturning preparation process, so this is a great opportunity to ask our tutor any questions you may have about bandsaws.
Our facilities include all personal safety protection, and our fully insured workshop is equipped with dust extraction systems. All materials required for the course are included.

What you need to bring
Your desire to learn! We also advise that you wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and clothing. Hot drinks and bottled water will be available.
Times
This course takes place on an afternoon, once a month. Courses will start at 1pm and run until 4pm. We ask that you try to arrive approximately 15 minutes before the course is due to start so you can meet the other students and have an initial chat with your tutor before the course begins.

Free on-site parking is available.

Our Bandsaw Maintenance courses are limited to a maximum of three students, ensuring each student has enough personal space and receives the maximum help and assistance necessary. Places are sold on a first come, first served basis. We advise that you book early to avoid disappointment!
