Community Showcase: Romance

Providing an additional platform to showcase your handcrafted work.

Every month, we share a theme. Makers from all over the country are invited to create new work or share photos of existing work that relates to the chosen theme of the month.

To help boost your online presence, we will share your submitted piece with our mailing list subscribers and across our social media pages throughout February. Your work will also be added to a page on our website with links redirecting viewers directly to you, potentially gaining you some sales!

In simple terms, this is what our Community Showcase is all about:

  • We share a monthly theme
  • You make something related to that theme using a product purchased from Turners Retreat
  • Send us photos and a few words about that piece, along with details about your small business, including social media links
  • Tell us whether you accept commissions for us to potentially gain you some sales when we receive enquiries of who to recommend
  • We will share your work and details about you/your small business on our website and across our social media channels to help boost your online presence
  • Each monthly submission will be entered into a prize draw that will be drawn out at the end of the year. If you submit a new piece of work every month, your chance of winning will be greater!

Want to get involved?

The theme for January is 'Romance'.

This theme is for you to interpret in any way you like! You can use this month to create something new or submit something you've already made. Here's some suggestions to get your ideas flowing:

  • Symbols of love, such as a heart, swans or an infinity symbol
  • A table for two, with a tealight holder or vase to hold the roses perhaps?
  • Or simply showcase a piece of work that you loved to make!

Your piece can be made using any craft you like, so long as one of the tools/materials you used were purchased from Turners Retreat.

Works will be shared on our website and with our social media followers during February.

Last year, we gave out monthly prizes to a 'Featured Piece of the Month.' This year, everyone's work will be shared, either in our email newsletters, on our social media pages or website.

Every entry we receive will also be entered into our 'End of the Year' prize draw, where higher value prizes will be up for grabs! So, if you share a piece of work with us every month, your chances will be much greater in the prize draw. Just a bit of fun to show our support!
