These are detailing tools used on between-centre work, where the grain is running parallel to the lathe bed.
Spindle gouges are used to create coves, beads and other profiles on goblets, vases, bed posts, candle stick and other spindle products.
B840190: This 3/4" is produced from a forged bar and therefore flat and wide.
