Product Description

The Peter Child pyrography pen offers extraordinary close control with an industry leading tip to grip distance of 32mm. This closer control enables you to easily create the designs and patterns you want – just like drawing with a pencil.

Includes one medium wire gauge (25 SWG) point which is already attached to the pen for ease.

Please ensure the screws on the pen are not touching in the middle as this may cause it not to heat up correctly.

Compatible with the Peter Child Artist's Pyrography Machine and Pen Splitter.

"Bought to enable the use of a different shaped nib without changing the wire, exactly the same as the one that came with the machine and works just great."

"This is based on my full review of the pen however i cant upload old/new pen comparison photo's here. As you will see from the turners retreat photo in this review the overall casing of the pen has changed it is now rounded and considerably thicker near the area where the point / tip sits the pen overall has a larger diameter and sits more comfortably in the hand. The rear end of the pen is now vented and has a slightly different fixed cord connector . I would presume the new shape near the pen point/tip is a safety feature and unless you do something intentionally forceful there is no way your fingers should ever come into contact with the heated elements/point. One of the new features I haven’t had chance to chat to Peter Child’s about is the new design at the front of the pen ( the area into which the tips/points are fixed ) . This has changed completely and has possibly been done so to reinforce the area against bending when screwing new tips in. I’m not sure whether its psychological or not but i changed the fixed outliner tip out for a spoon shader and it seemed very smooth compared to the original pen , This may be down to the new shape front head and the tips fitting better. You now get around another 5 mm pen end to tip end distance which gives a greater field of view to see your work clearly ( approx 13 mm greater distance than other machines i use ) .Cable stays the same with around an inch extra ( Approximately 4ft total cable) . Using the pen : It sits nicely in the hand and feels neither too heavy or light. At no time did i feel any heat whatsoever on my fingertips ( max working heat was 5 for around 4 hours on paper ) I didn’t test on wood as I am solely a paper pyrography artist. I really like that extra bit of extension on the front end of the pen as it gives great visibility and my fingers sat nicely into the new shape of the pen. Conclusion : A great new pen and break from the basic design with safety and comfort in mind and added heat venting make for a really nice design . The only thing i would love to see is a foam hand grip/sleeve but that’s just me being picky . "
