This dual purpose shank can be used with three cutters to deliver a range of techniques. When fitted with chatter tool collar (RS215C), either of the double ended spring steel cutters (RS220 and RS221) will produce a myriad of patterns on end grain only. The collar allows the turner to vary the length of the cutter so increasing the variety of patterns available.
Fitted with small teardrop scraper (RS222) this tool becomes a great all-rounder supporting traditional scraping and shear scraping techniques. The shape of the cutter effectively converts the tool into a round, half-round or square scraper suitable for use on the inside or outside of small bowls, platters and hollow forms.
Note the RS215 is the shaft only and requires cutters and handle (RS202) or arm brace (RS206).
